Van Hoose Sr., who, just out of the Air Force in 1963, founded Big Sandy with a $1000 loan from his wife, Lorna. Fast-forward through 3 generations and you’ll see the success of Big Sandy Superstore goes hand-in-hand with the Art Van Furniture philosophy: treat your customers with kindness and care—as if they were family.
With over 60 years of home furnishings experience, the Big Sandy Superstore family has always believed in providing customers with name-brand home furniture matched by award-winning in-store experiences and outstanding service. Together with this fresh beginning, we are dedicated to proving that while family is priceless, creating a space to call home should always be affordable.
Still located across from the University Park Mall, our superstore remains easy to find—next to our neighbors at Kirkland’s and McAlister’s Deli.
