What's Under Your Mattress Matters

Most adjustable bases are wrapped in polyester or synthetic blends — the very materials you avoided when you chose your mattress. We didn't see the point. The Avocado Adjustable Base is covered in organic cotton over an off-white powder-coated steel frame, because the surface beneath your mattress should be held to the same standard as the one you sleep on. We prioritize natural options where possible. Just honest materials, doing quiet work where you’d never think to look.

Natural wood legs adjust to 4, 8, or 12 inches to meet your frame's height. The result is modern and intentional: all the function of an adjustable base, with none of the clinical look.

Save two positions to memory, so your favorite settings are always a button away. And if the power goes out, a backup battery returns the base to flat — no manual cranking, no stress.

Wood Legs, Not Plastic

While most bases rely on plastic leg inserts, ours stand on solid natural rubberwood — one of the most durable furniture woods, naturally resistant to moisture and wear. The off-white powder-coated frame replaces the usual industrial black for a warmer look beside an Avocado mattress. Rated to hold up to 850 pounds and tested to last, it's proof that good materials aren't only what you see — they're what holds everything up.

Compatibility

The Avocado Adjustable Base works with most mattresses and existing bed frames, including platform beds — set it on a platform, across slats, or freestanding inside a frame on its own legs. It cannot be used with a box spring, and the base will not work when placed inside a frame that has a solid bottom or center-support slats that block the moving sections.

Organic Cotton Cover

For a soft, premium finish, the base is wrapped in organic cotton canvas in a natural color — the same material standard we use to finish our mattresses, rather than the polyester most adjustable bases rely on. The cover is 100% organic cotton canvas, which is responsibly and ethically sourced.

Tool-Free Assembly

Setting up your Avocado Adjustable Base is simple — no tools required. The lightweight frame arrives folded, so it's easy to handle and fits through stairways and doorways. Six adjustable wood post legs provide stability and let you set the height to 4, 8, or 12 inches to match your bed frame. Two people are recommended for assembly.

Power and Operation

The base runs on a standard wall outlet. The wireless remote operates on three AAA batteries (included). For peace of mind during a power outage, a backup system accepts two 9V batteries (not included) that return the base to a flat position — it isn't intended for everyday operation. The lift motors are built for intermittent use (roughly a 10% duty cycle), and the remote's child-lock function prevents accidental movement. Weight capacity is 850 lbs, evenly distributed.
